We send pushes with a token-based APNs auth key from your Apple Developer account. One key works for all of your apps and for both the sandbox and production environments, so you upload it once per workspace.
1

Create the key at Apple

In the Apple Developer portal, go to Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles > Keys, add a key, and enable Apple Push Notifications service (APNs). Download the .p8 file.Apple lets you download it only once, so keep it somewhere safe.
2

Note the Key ID and Team ID

The Key ID is shown with the key (10 characters). Your Team ID is in the top right of the developer portal, under your account name.
3

Upload it

In PushNotifAI workspace settings, upload the .p8 with its Key ID and Team ID.
Your key is encrypted at rest, is used only to send to your apps, and is never shown again, in the dashboard or over MCP.

Your app also needs

  • The Push Notifications capability on your app target in Xcode
  • A call to registerForRemoteNotifications() once the user grants permission
The SDK reports which APNs environment each device’s token belongs to, so Xcode, TestFlight and App Store builds all route correctly with the same key.
